Review of Alvin and the Chipmunks 4 Full Movie: Chipmunk singing sensations Alvin, Simon, and Theodore are back for an encore in this hilarious "Squeakquel" packed with more music, more action, and more nutty fun for the whole family! When a concert mishap lands Dave (Jason Lee) in the hospital, the Chipmunks take a break from superstardom and enroll in school to fit in with kids their age. But they soon face some stiff competition when they meet the Chipettes- a beautiful talented trio of chipmunks discovered by Ian (David Cross), the boys' evil ex-manager! my biggest problem stems from me seeing cartoon back in the 80's. The main problem is all the chipmunks and Chipettes (I understand the introduction of as they were in a cartoon in late 80's till early 90's) but see in the cartoon Theodore and Elanor were 5 yrs old chubby kindergartens.

Alvin and Brittany were 7-8 yr olds with the bossy tendency and got into loads of trouble. Simon and Jeanette were smart and shy 9-10 yr olds. Still, grade school rock/pop star children it wasn't exactly rock or pop music somewhere in between weird but worked in the show. Though Simon and Jenette who behaved best as makes sense might have taken some hs classes. They were all still young children. Putting them all in the same grade in his made 0 sense. I only watched this movie out of boredom when it was free on tv for some reason I stumbled upon it and watched it cause it was a train wreck. sometimes you watch something to see how bad it is. There would have been less issue if they had all been in grade school fluff it would have been ok if Simon and Jeanette were in middle school and younger four in grade school. with grade or two separating them. would it have fixed movie completely no would it have been better yes? Hollywood failed to know source material so hard. There were many little flaws but to do my own history with chipmunks the fact there was no age difference in the live action movies.

I probably would have been ok with it if like Simon and Jeanette where Sr in his and Alvin and Brittney sophomores in his and like maybe they go to combined middle school and hs and Theodore and Elanor were in 8th grade. Sorry for harping on one issue. I just know I could so make the movie better. adds another fanfiction to list of things I am working on. The other big issue is why CGI live action mashup they never turn out well all CGI would have been ok as their where cartoon children with chipmunk children in the original cartoon, of course, I prefer pure cartoon style but CGI is better than combining it with unnecessary live action.

There's a scene where Alvin is on the high school football team and he makes a touchdown without catching the ball. The quarterback threw the ball while Alvin was on it and said it was a touchdown which is completely stupid cuz I have to catch the ball and make it to the end zone to be a touchdown this movie is so retarded If you thought the first one was bad, then I'm sure you haven't seen this pile of carp. Everything that was wrong in the first one has come back. The only thing added was the addition of the of the Chipettes was pointless. Everything else, terrible jokes, a great waste of great actors, and adding crappy songs for the album is one of the stupidest things I have heard. I mean this film is Real bad. So don't think about showing this to your kids. At all. The chipmunk movies are very dark. The movie opens with a series of chipmunk-induced violence.
An old lady actually dies at the paws of the 'Chipmunks. (It is implied). Then the Chipmunks have to go to school, for some reason, and then get in a rivalry with the Chipettes, who are being managed by David Cross in a robe (which I find rather SEXY) and blah blah. Also, there is a football game at some point but I blacked out and erased that bit from my memory (this tends to happen during Chipmunk movies) Also, I want to point out that the CONSTANT sexualization of the female form, in media, is revolting.

When it extends to female chipmunks it has gone too far. The Chipettes were basically a bunch of gyrating skanks, singing Beyonce, with their asses hanging out. When they first appear in the movie, they are naked, which normally I would be okay with- as chipmunks are generally naked, but the male chipmunks have already set the precedent of being clothed. Anyway, really, it's offensive. Between this movie and Twilight. it's like punching Feminism in the FACE. Speaking of punching... overheard from a child behind us in the theatre, in the middle of the movie, seemingly unprompted: "I am going to punch myself in the face". This is a pretty good critique of the movie as a whole. And again.. I would like to point out that I DONT UNDERSTAND PEOPLE.
The parts the audience laughed at were like.. when David Cross got scootered in the crotch. Or a chipmunk chipmunked his way up to a ceiling fan. As a sociological study if humor, watching this movie with an audience was horrifying. Also.. apparently chipmunks appeal to all demographics, there were more than just children and their parents in the theatre. WHY. I was (hypocritically) angry with the other movie-goers for supporting this movie. (We bought tickets to The Blindside so we were not supporting it). "[It] could be the most aggressively terrible movie of the year." was what one reviewer said- but they are mistaken. It is aggressive. But the terrible trophy clearly goes to Twilight.
