The Good Dinosaur movie roundup: Starting with the animation, the scenery is gorgeous and top Pixar quality. However, the cartoonish characters can't help but seem out of place in all of the realism. The film is severely lacking in plot as it tries to follow the structures of Toy Story and Tarzan, but it doesn't find itself living up to those legendary movies. The emotions are forced, the characters are flat, and the side characters and sub plots are annoying. Worth watching once, but I'll probably never see this film again.

Whilst there are many people speaking out against the numerous polysemic cliff-hangers and plots, it is important to acknowledge that it is good that Pixar doesn't always create films that are wholeheartedly sweet. After all, nursery rhymes often include morals and hidden messages underneath their child-friendly exteriors. This film had me absolutely gripped by its excellent character development, where you absolutely invest in the protagonist. This could be one of the reasons why the film is such a roller-coaster ride: because you truly adore the main characters.

An Inspiring, hilarious and emotional experience. The Good Dinosaur was definitely a Pixar film to remember! I love how it even though it was considered a 'Kids' film it still maintained lessons and morals which could relate to any person of any age. I continue to believe that Disney captures the imagination and the creative spirit for all of us. Well done! The film might be one of the most beautiful films in the movie history, prove again that Pixar can make an incredible film with their beautiful mind-blowing visual and animation to tell a simple story. a touching, heartfelt plot with the lovable character. I can say that as a huge Pixar fan. pixar did it again.

A portion of the movie feels recycled from superior Disney and Pixar films of the past (like the story with Arlo's dad), making this my least favorite Pixar film. But, it still manages to entertain and have an engaging friendship story between Arlo and Spot; that was probably the best part of the movie, and it helped me get past how some of the animations of the dinosaurs and landscapes don't really mix well. 7/10
Predictable but very solid throughout. I was initially put-off by the dinosaur stylizations in the film, (I feel this probably strongly affected the audience score for this film, as it sets it out to be more child oriented than it actually is) especially since the style is not cohesive in this stylization throughout; but despite this the film is beautiful and has really stellar animation (as always). It's "The Lion King" for a new generation, strong characterization, and development drive this well into being better than what the trailers depict.

This is definitely one of my least favorite Pixar films. Not terrible or anything. The backgrounds are BEAUTIFUL. but the characters are not that strong, the designs are beyond cheap, some of the weakest designs from the studio in my opinion. I'd say only check this movie out for the scenery.
Horrible movie for extremely young kids. Humans are considered critters by dinosaurs and need to be stamped out. Interesting change in perspective for an older audience, but it will lead to younger ones trying to bludgeon their younger siblings. A few scary pterodactyls also try to eat the young human, and that resulted in a month of nightmares for my son.
I knew from watching the first 30 minutes of the movie, that this doesn't hold up to the standards that Pixar has set in its previous movies. My biggest complaint was the plot of the story never allows any complexity, everything just feels tame. However, I also find it really hard to not like it. It's very charming, the animation is really beautiful.

With a very simple narrative and dialogue, 'The Good Dinosaur' is squarely aimed at a pre-teen audience, but the story it does have to tell, it sells well enough, delivering a good message for kids about overcoming fear and believing in yourself. There isn't much here for adults and you may find yourself becoming bored with just how tame and dull it is, but at least you can marvel at the breathtakingly stunning environments.
Bottom line: Pre-teens and younger will probably enjoy it; anyone over that age group, not so much.
