Review of Insidious: Chapter 3 Full Movie: Better than part 2 but not nearly as scary as part 1. the blueprint is changed for this iteration as the Lamberts are now gone, and the story centers around Elise and the spectral sightings duo. the story has it's moments where the jump scares work, which makes it really fun. but it doesn't have the same creepy and chilling atmosphere that part 1 had throughout most of the runtime. In comparison to this, the Second Chapter is as beautiful as "Taxi Driver". Holes of screenplays as big as houses, do not include "the past history" and not even the reason (explained very badly and superficially) of why the demon passes from one victim to another. The only good note is that they make the probable boyfriend of the main character disappear, time off! At least James Wan, in the first two chapters, knew how to narrate and get you into a story, thanks to his skill behind a camera, as opposed to that Leigh Whannell that is static and odiously 90s (at least the ugly and boring). Wasted time.

Tempo sprecato. Non voglio immaginare come sarà il 4 capitolo....

A prequel to the first two films this third film in the Insidious series is a slight improvement over the second film though not quite matching the high point of the first film. This horror film mostly works thanks to plenty of scares, creepy imagery, the return of Lin Shaye in her biggest role of the series so far which is only a good thing, the rest of the cast is decent and there is more than just scares on offer. This means that once again a film in this series manages to be a most entertaining affair despite suffering from some of the same issues the previous films had while also having a lackluster first act.
The film is certainly A LOT better than Chapter 2 was. I LOVED Stefanie Scott and Lin Shaye (Shaye is in this film more than she has been in any other Insidious film, and this one is almost her film. She is phenomenal, like always and gets some great butt-kicking scenes), and I found I really cared for Scott and the danger she is placed in the film (She really gets quite the beating). It's still a little goofy at times, but this threequel is clearly trying to bring this trilogy back into the straight-up horror genre. I really liked the family element brought into this one, and I liked the relationship between father and daughter (father played quite nicely by Dermot Mulroney). Each character has a good deal of depth to them, which I appreciated. Chapter 3 certainly isn't as scary or creepy as the first 2 films were (It does have a few moments though), but I think it tells a better, more rich story than 2 did. Chapter 3 is a very fun ride and makes for a welcome addition to this growing franchise.

Not as scary as it's predecessors, but Insidious: Chapter 3 serves as a decent prequel to the franchise, although it could have been better. I found the beginning to be a little boring, but it later develops into a creepy film, but it relies too much, sometimes on cliched jumpscares, which were already used a lot in the first movies. But the performances are great, especially Lin Shaye and it does give us some understanding about the previous movies. While, if compared to the predecessors, it's weaker, on it's one, it's still a good horror flick. Recommended !!
