Review of Maze Runner: The Death Cure Full Movie

Review of Maze Runner: The Death Cure Full Movie HD Yify version.  the drastic changes to the source material have left this series in a bad spot and the end result is a subpar offering that essentially leaves a bad taste. The filmmakers attempt an action-packed epic that is full of everything, you can't focus as there is so much attempted here.

The biggest issue is the core plot, the rescue. The whole film hinges on the rescue of their friend and it weakens the whole idea of the franchise. I knew they were boxed into unknown territory after they abandoned the Trails of the second film, the Scorch Trials were nonexistent. They also attempted to save Teresa, her arc in the book was so much better, it actually makes sense. This sadly ends much like the Hunger Games franchise did, on a whimper. You never care what is happening, everybody seems to be running around and avoiding explosions. I wanted something worthy but this is just poor filmmaking, like a mini Michael Bay at the helm. 26/05/2018.

I thought this movie was good. I really liked the first movie in the franchise. I thought the 2nd movie was pointless and boring. I thought this movie rounded the franchise up nicely. The plot was well written, it brings the story to a satisfactory end. All the plot points are tied together and rounded off nicely. There is an abundance of action and event in this movie. There are human emotion and interest. The landscapes and locations are interesting. I think of the action that is involved it could have been a little more intense or brutal to really make this film fly however it is fine as an entertainment spectacle the way it is. If you just watched the first movie and the third movie you would be satisfied with this franchise and not miss any major plot points. Just skip the 2nd movie.

This franchise seemed to take a huge downfall since the first one. Granted I wasn't a huge fan of it, but it seemed like a neat concept. The sequel was just outright horrible, so what were the chances this one would be any better? Slim to none. Might as well have just called this Maze Runner: Saving Private Minho, since that's basically what 90% of the plot here was. And it dragged like a motherfucker too. No reason this should have been almost two and a half hours. I became so uninterested I ended up playing Angry Birds halfway in. The only way this would have been good is if at the end Thomas woke up after the end of the first movie and said: "whoa guys... let's just stop here alright?"

While The Death Cure is still better off being viewed as a stand-alone film than a faithful adaptation (and yes, I know it's hypocritical seeing how I bashed the Percy Jackson movies for this reason), The Death Cure may not be as good as the first but it's still an improvement over Scorch Trials. The visuals, performances, action, and cinematography are good, if not necessarily the most amazing thing I've ever seen. This movie is somewhat dated largely because the YA dystopia film adaptations pretty much ran their course after Lionsgate gave up on Divergent and also because of Dylan O'Brien's injury. However, while I prefer Hunger Games over this trilogy, I still found the movie to offer me a decent amount of closure even if it's somewhat bloated and overlong. Now, Wes Ball, go to adopt the prequels to James Dashner's trilogy. See how you "use the same ingredients to make a different recipe" with Kill Order and Fever Code.

The Young Adult genre is one that has plagued our screens consistently since the booming success of The Hunger Games back in 2012, and almost every single dystopia-set franchise that tried to get off the ground either died immediately or perished through its seemingly endless sequels. But amongst all the crap this genre has pumped out over the last 6 years, Wes Ball's Maze Runner franchise has stood out amongst the rest and actually provided three films that range from being quite good to not half bad. I surprisingly enjoyed the first two films in the franchise and they're two of the best YA dystopian future films out of the large bunch. Now, despite the fact that this conclusion to the franchise is the worst of the trilogy, in my opinion, it still offers enough to where it's a mildly enjoyable movie despite its many flaws. This finale once again follows Thomas (Dylan O'Brien) as he leads a team to take the fight to WCKD and rescue his friends whilst the possibility of a cure to the deadly virus known as 'The Flare' becomes apparent.
