Review of Left Behind 2014 Full Movie

Review of Left Behind 2014 Full Movie: Left Behind gets one star because at least it was entertaining in unintentional ways, qualifying it as a good bad movie. Left Behind has the look and tone of a light comedy from the '90s, establishing its incompetency in the first scene. The story is well-known by now--the Evangelical Protestant interpretation of the Rapture occurs, and the flawed humans "left behind" have to make sense of what happened. Among the people who didn't go to heaven are an adulterer, his atheist daughter and her atheist boyfriend, a greedy Texas businessman, and a Muslim, who comes off as a genuinely good person throughout the film, so we can only guess at the bigoted message.

Among those who go to heaven are Nicolas Cage's wife (Lea Thompson), who we know is a Christian because she does nothing but talk about God and the end of times, and always has a King James Bible (with the Catholic books taken out, of course) near at hand. For some reason, the glutton goes to heaven, so I'm not sure how some people got Raptured and some got left behind. Nicholas Cage looks high AF much of the time and sniffs like Donald Trump, so I wonder who held a gun to his head to make him do this movie. This is almost as bad as the straight-to-video Kirk Cameron films and just as funny. This Is the End is a much better treatment of the material.

One of the worst movies I ever saw, the movie don't explain anything! Suddenly there a woman in the airport talking about the end of the world! I can't believe I was conned into buying this DVD in a store...the only reason this film got my attention was that of Nicholas Cage...shame on that man for putting his name to this utter garbage! It's preachy...but not just normal self-righteous preachy you get in normal life...it's BADLY WRITTEN preachy.

Bad acting, bad direction, bad script...worst un-special effects I have seen in 20 years...I felt genuinely embarrassed that I had bought this for the family to watch. After 30 mins of laughing at how totally crap and preachy it was the DVD was removed and destroyed so that no other poor soul may accidentally see this in our DVD collection. The idea of the movie is actually nice, I can tag along with the biblical cause, but my God (pun intended) did they ruin that movie.

Unfortunately, there is no ability to go into negative numbers here. Spend your time on more constructive and interesting things, like watching paint dry. 100 percent of this movie should have been left on the cutting room floor. The worst movie I have seen in a long time... not even a politely detached, neophytes performance by cage makes it worth your cognizance. 'left behind' is cheap-looking, lugubrious, linear and poorly acted. it divests itself of any intellectual or sublunary quintessence, the scale too small to feint to be about the rapture. ultimately, this obnoxious abuse of photoelectric cells barely registers as a film. save your souls and eschew this mess.

This film is so so bad; poor script, poor acting and absolutely no character development. This is, without doubt, the worst film I've seen in a long time. What is Mr. Cage thinking!!!

I watched this because it had Nicholas Cage in to and therefore I assumed it would be good. And do you know what??? It was. I really enjoyed the concept and the acting. I didn't like the little guy on the plane, his character was an idiot. But on the whole, it wasn't an Oscar winner but it was good evening watching. Am interested to see if they carry on the story ????????

Love the concept: all Christians suddenly disappearing. Not sure why they had to drag innocent kids into it, though. If it was just Christian evangelists, a more realistic response would have been a quiet celebration by those left behind.

Was suspenseful enough, the final explanations are not believable enough for me, particularly to strangely a large number of people that qualified to be disappeared. Has/had promise with some tweaks I would mind seeing the sequel wow just 1% it's worth even less. there is nothing good about this movie. the acting is miserable and I actually like Nicolas Cage. he was great in Lord of war and kick ass but he doesn't even get a freakout that can actually be entertaining.

A sorry excuse for a film. It's amazing that 2000 Left Behind with Kirk Cameron is actually better than this. 2k Left Behind was made on a $4 million budget... on that budget, the director created a film that had, at the very least, acceptable VFX, acceptable acting, and several memorable scenes (particularly the ending scene with the antichrist). This film is dull, boring, and is so bad that it doesn't even fit into the "it's so bad it's funny" category... you will find no entertainment value in this film. What you will be left with is how these producers were given nearly $16 million to work with, a $12 million bump in budget, in a time where a YouTuber working on their own can create great VFX, created the dullest movie of the 2010s.

This movie makes me so upset, because I look at it, and I just think of how much better a competent team could've done on it... you're just left wondering "what were they thinking?" This is just one of the worst movies I have seen, with just bad acting, bad plot and cheap production. Not the best Cage movie but entertaining. An Oscar-winning performance...oh wait, that's Nicolas Cage in another movie...
