Review of Home Alone 6 Full Movie: Fun Christmas movie that, while has aged a bit, still makes a nice addition to the holiday movie rotation. While Macaulay Culkin never saw his career take off as an adult, he did make an appealing child lead and you enjoy his antics for the most part. He gets two great villains in Joe Pesci & Daniel Stern, whose comic reactions deliver most of the films laughs. Behind the camera, director Chris Columbus keeps the action moving while making great use of John Hughes's script, which slips in some pointed comments on the holidays with families.

Plus, John Williams delivers one of his best scores and should be must in every Christmas music rotation. The main appeal of the movie is the brilliant third act, in which Keven booby traps his house against the burglars, resulting in some classic physical comedy. Whether it be a blow torch to the head or nail through the foot, you'll be laughing from beginning to the end, thanks in large part to Pesci & Stern's superb physical reactions (the look on Stern's face when the tarantula is placed on him never gets old). Overall, not a perfect film but a fun one, especially around Christmas.
For a Christmas classic, I gotta' say, this is a movie I never really got into. As a kid, I found it weird and off-putting, and as an adult, I just find it juvenile and not very funny. Look, I respect it for giving a grittier look at childhood and how it's not all sunshine and rainbows and sometimes your family and other kids can just be dicks and adults can be scary. I appreciate that I really do, but as a piece of entertainment, it just doesn't work for me. I never really laughed while I was watching it, at most I maybe gave a smirk. For the most part, I was just annoyed this kid never thought to call the cops.
They make some comment about the phone lines being down, but then at the end when the s*** really hits the fan it shows him calling the cops. I know that's a silly nitpick, but it really bothered me. The thing is, there is stuff about this movie I actually really liked. The traps are creative, there is a sadistic charm in seeing the criminals get their comeuppance, and there are some scenes that are genuinely charming. The church scene where Kevin finally realizes the scary neighbor isn't so scary is legitimately great, and there are other moments in the movie that are charming and very Christmasy. As a whole though, I'm sorry, it just doesn't work. There's enough good stuff in here that come December, I might not mind watching it again, but unless it's showing on TV or I'm babysitting I can't see myself seeking it out.

When we see we have no time when we are in a hurry. When we see others have no time for our conscience to hear our side of the story. When we don't see that what others make time for is seeing to everything is as planned when others don't see what we are planning when the time is right. When we see it's time to stand up for ourselves when we can't take being bullied or given less when we are a kid to fight back.
When we don't see what our actions lead to when we need a time out. When we don't see what time will bring to make those disappear and be alone to want our independence now. When what time doesn't bring others is no time when other's see they have little time to get going. When what little time we see we rush and don't pay attention to every single detail to only miss one big detail that leaves out one. When others make it on time to places they have to go and we are still back home to see that our time for independence is now. When what time others use their independence we see they use unwisely to rob.
When what time we use we make room for the timeless classics when we have all the time in the world. When we see what time alone we see we get ourselves ready to go shopping. When we have little time to prepare for the worst to only outrun. When what time we have we do what we don't normally could do. When we make time to cover ourselves from being uncovered when we make those legal and illegal not know we are home alone. When what we don't see but others see the time to strike such places. When what time others make is to teach us things true and untrue when others have plenty of time to know the difference between themselves. When we see others always make time for us when they can be reached anywhere when they want to spend time with us when it's God. When seeing what time of year it is to prepare.
When we see what time can do when it can separate us from our loved ones when we are too busy fighting and too busy working on other things to see that time apart makes the soul alone. When we see it's not too late to make times for others when fighting over the small things can be meaningless when being together is more meaningful. When we see what time it is when we have to make time to protect all that we see when our home is a place where everyone comes together to be together when it's a place of warmth and comfort that we don't want others to ruin.
When what others don't have time for our conscience and make our little insignificant time on earth feel meaningless we stand up for ourselves and defend to put those wasting their time being here. When we see those who cherish time together would do anything to be together when nothing in this world means anything when we are not spending time together as a family. When we see we given those time to think, including ourselves to see that time is not too late to put those in other places and others in their place when the time is present to enjoy & cherish together.
