Review of Star Wars: The Force Awakens Full Movie: Star Wars was the biggest cinematic influence in my life. It inspired my filmmaking as it certainly did for many others. When the Force Awakens was announced I was overjoyed and gobbled up every press release. And now it's here. Despite having the adorable Daisy Ridley and an even more adorable BB-8, this film falls short on almost every possible level: Wooden dialogue, over-acting, predictable, unearned and convenient.

Despite the familiar faces gracing this galactic reunion tour, Force Awakens is closer to the 1999 prequel trilogy than the originals. Perhaps this film couldn't possibly live up to the hype, but regardless, this was surface level with Twilight temper-tantrums and say-what-I'm-thinking dialogue. The shark has been jumped. Han and Chewie are great together, their banter never gets old, but in the end, I wish this were a better film to justify my lightsaber and star wars tee collection. Unfortunately, I had to get this review out there because I don't think critics will be honest with this one. Too much at stake in cinema to give this a bad review. The fix is in and it will make a fortune. I hope Episode 8 will be better. May the force be with you. You're gonna need it.

This movie is basically A New Hope with better visual effects and acting that isn't as good. The Force Awakens is a good film, but it lacks some of the things that made the original films so good. The film adds new characters that are sometimes wasted. Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver give good performances as their characters, and their characters are great. The actors who return from the original films steal the show, even though they were supposed to only support the story. The score by John Williams is amazing. The best thing about this film is the final battle, which is sort of short. I would've liked the film better if there was more action with the lightsabers. I think that The Force Awakens is a great addition to the Star Wars saga. I will give this film an 85%.

Honestly while not a bad movie it wasn't great either as a fan of the movies and original canon of books I would say it didn't feel like Star Wars in the end and would give it a 6 out of 10 rating as the movie only reminds you of how much better it would have been had it been able to and followed the original canon and story of the books with solo twins as if you read books and then watched this movie you would easily understand what could have been as story wise it was on the weak side compared to what it could have been.
Hopefully, next film is a lot more than this first outing. Some of the character potrayals seemed off point and not genuine to the characters being played and let's just say some of the cast was young and it showed as you wouldn't expect a storm trooper to act all as goofy and childish right away as Poe did in the movie but instead a bit more hardened from his training and time spent with them considering all he must seen and gone through and nevermind the way Rey and Poe acted around each other and together made me think I was back in high school again and not in a Star Wars film that's is for sure and while maybe that had nothing to do with it and probably had more to do with the direction and what was given to them to play than the actual acting itself.
Nevermind that at times movie left you with more questions than actual answers and wondering what's what and how did this get to this point in first place lets just say I hope the next film has a lot more then what this first outing gave us and was that's for sure. As a Star Wars fan, of course, I will always want to watch any Star Wars film and recommend anyone to do same that's just the fan in me but I won't lie or hype up a movie no matter how much of a fan I am and always be genuine in how I felt about movie.
I don't know if this even deserves one rating. Rey the main character thought the Force was a myth but yet she uses the force like a trained Jedi besting Kylo Ren with ease. And Kylo Ren, trained in the Jedi Arts can't even kill a stormtrooper. At the beginning of the movie we know nothing of Rey and her skills yet we know she has even flown a spaceship or left the planet she was placed on and yet she is easily able to fly the Millennium Falcon off the planet and evade pilots who have been flying for clearly sometimes. If an amateur screenwriter wrote this story they would have never sold their script to anyone and would have been told to go home and start over.
After years of anxious waiting, we finally got a Star Wars movie, but sadly I would have rather waited longer for something that wasn't a disappointment. The movie is not bad, per say, but it's completely predictable. At every point, you know what is going to happen and how it's simply a beefed up retelling of A New Hope with upgraded visuals and older characters. Daisy Ridley and John Boyega do a good job, mostly, as does Harrison Ford, no surprise there, but that's about it. Carrie Fisher get's very little screen time, most of it unimportant, and Luke gets a long stare. The antagonists are pretty cliche(In regards to Star Wars) and the supposed climax is not at all climactic, instead, it's just the attack on the Death Star, only bigger and with characters you care less about. Good, average, disappointing.
Remember Star Wars, A New Hope? Me too. This movie is essentially a retelling of that story with newer effects and a different cast. So many parallels can be drawn between the two movies that if it didn't have the words Star Wars in the title, I would say it was a blatant rip off of the first film. I am happy that it wasn't a complete failure, the movie is fun and action-packed. Full of rich visuals and plenty of bang for your buck, it's just nothing new. It adds little in the way of inventive storytelling and is just okay.
Movies that are exactly the same as it's original does not mean it should have the exact same rating either. I don't know where to begin. How to talk about this messy monstrosity. Let's start with Mary Sue here. Oh, did I say Mary Sue, I meant Rey. She is perfect at every obstacle she encounters. For instance, flying a ship on first try (a very complicated ship). Using the force too. When Luke first used it, he had it in his blood, he only had luck hitting a target, and he spent YEARS training. Rey had only heard of the Jedi's existence not long before, let alone the force. She used a mind trick she had never even heard of. She had no fighting experience, but somehow managed to beat Kylo Ren on first try. The new dark lord of the sith.
Which brings me to my next complaint. Kylo Ren. If he's so strong with the dark side, with any force in general, he should have won that fight. It's no fun to watch our hero fight the villain and always win. This makes the villain the underdog, which he now is. Spaceballs was a better movie in the opinions of many. It was a spoof to mock Star Wars but people at least loved it because it came forward about what it was doing. What makes the force awakens so bad is that you can't just throw this crap together and plan on getting away with it. However, most critics out there are meatheaded and don't respect what Star Wars was, but just because they recreated it doesn't mean it's just as good. Because according to every real fan, it's just making the rest look better.
