Review of The Last Witch Hunter Movie: Loved the movie was interesting, different, and entertaining. There were a few areas where the action was a little lackluster but overall I'm desperate to see a sequel. Deserves far better critiques that what it is getting. fabulous job by all actors and did not feel that Vin took the spotlight or was not the best lead ( no one else would have fit the bill he was perfect) I felt there was plenty of action being done by all the fantastic actors and actresses. Again fantastic movie and deserves a sequel.

This movie had some positive elements to it (like effects and action pieces), but it fails at nearly every other aspect of a watchable film. The character development is horrible and I think that Vin Diesel hogs the spotlight away from his very capable supporting cast. I did have some guilty enjoyment from time to time, but I feel the story could have been told way better than it was.
Terrible story. Boy, all these superheroes and magic films go way over the top. At some point, it doesn't have anything in common with normal life and yet the buddies and bandits are clichés to the max. So this like a western with fantasy clothing. The fantasy seems cooked up randomly without solid roots, like the tree in the film, it comes and goes. Good acting and special effects keep two stars for the film. Dismally epic.
I understand why a lot of people didn't like this movie. They were mad that the movie didn't explain enough, but I think that was the best part of the movie. It centers its self on magic, and the thing about magic is just how confusing it is. We see glimpses of thing that don't make sense and that we can't explain, but that is the beauty of magic. Magic is crazy, contradictory and just plain out there. This movie did that so well. It didn't try to shove an explanation do our throats, but instead showed us that the world of magic is so immense that they couldn't even begin to explain it. Overall, the story was complete and I liked that they didn't force a romance on us but left it open to interpretation. It had some pretty good effects and kept the audience guessing. It did have flaws, but what movie doesn't. The Last Witch Hunter was a good movie and deserves more respect.
Vin Diesel and Michael Caine have been in far better films and even though they are likable in this they are worthy of far better. Besides those two the rest of the cast is pretty bland, the score is decent, it looks great visually but the action is weak and the plot is relatively predictable.
