Review of Ride Along 2 Full Movie: But Captain Steve Rogers - still the boy Lionheart Brooklyn who tried to go high against the Nazis, the project just let the 4 F - I think that the world is safer when their caregivers themselves. And as writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McNealy and character of star Chris Evans as well developed in the last five years to protect our hearts, even if strong reasons clear position.

What's worse when Bucky 'The Winter Soldier "Barnes (Sebastian Stan) - as well as pre-test friend Steve's brain during the first 30 years of the beginning of the 40th century, thanks to science are still Nazi evil - it is a murder suspect that the mysterious new hero black panther Cap on the road is determined to protect their most crazy old friend, even if it appears to be guilty.
Police officers with jokes, Kevin Hart and Ice cube are the perfect fit for the roles of Ben Barber and James Payton. The stars of Ride Along 2 directed by Tim Story. James Payton is a senior detective who has had a great history of solving cases. He is head detective of the Atlanta Police Department. When his captain calls him into his office he gives him his next file of a multimillion drug dealer in Miami Florida. James loves working alone that is until his future brother in law comes along as a officer in training. Ben Barber (Kevin) looks up to James not only because of his work but for his attitude towards life.

They enter Miami and met their partner who is part of the homicide department Maya Cruz played by Olivia Munn. Her character is a sexy, hard working, uptight person. The big problem with this movie is the development of the characters. Ben barber(Kevin hart) doesn't change in anyway from the first movie. If his character doesn't developed it is then the same movie but with a case in another city. In the first movie Ben is a rookie to everything he messes up a lot and jokes a lot. His character is not developed so therefore there is no progress whatsoever in the terms of Ben growing up. A big bonus to this movie is the combination of comedy and action is just perfect there is an equal amount of funny jokes and serious moment in this movie. It's not too funny or not funny enough and it's not too action packed nor is it not enough action. The quality of the movie is great it is a move for any teenagers and their parents can go and see. If you like Ride Along 2 then another movie you would like would be 21/22 jump street it Stars Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill. It is a funny action packed police officer movie. I recommend this movie if you're the type of person who loves comedy and action combined. It is another movie where u go on an adventure with the characters. If your looking for a good funny movie Ride Along 2 is a good one to see.

Basically the same as the first, but worse. James and Ben are sent on another mission just weeks before Ben's wedding. But with higher stakes on the line, including their jobs, it'll take all they can to bring down the bad dude. So, well, this just proves that comedy is one of the most misused genres, with "Ride Along 2" being a sad excuse for not only a sequel, but a film. Not only does this copy the exact same formula AND sequence of events from the first film, but it doesn't do it as well! That's not saying much, really, but the first film had at least a tiny bit going for it. This movie had no originality or any real substance, making it feel like a knock off, low budget Kevin Hart and Ice Cube buddy-cop flick.
It feels weird to say this but for the first time ever, I didn't think Kevin Hart was funny. I don't know if I ever laughed at anything Hart did in this movie. I mean, what happened? I normally love this guy! He was the only reason why the first "Ride Along" film was bearable! Here, he gives a lowly and unenergetic performance next to a less than adequate Ice Cube. The performances were laughable in this movie. There's nothing really funny or smart in this movie, and there weren't even a few chuckles. This movie fell flat on its face in terms of comedy and doesn't even bring a hint of joy or excitement. It's sad when a Kevin Hart movie can't even make you chuckle, and that has to be a major downfall in its own right.
There really isn't much, or anything at all to say about this movie. It's not worth it and if you heed my advice, it's not worth lending your time to.
Another sequel we didn't ask for. And this time it's for the most underwhelming movie of late years. And this movie is exactly the same. It's the exact same story, with the setting being changed to Miami and the reasoning for why Ice Cube brings Kevin Hart on the trip isn't really there at all. I still don't understand why he brought him and I think that this would have been a better movie if Kevin Hart just hadn't been in it. Hart does what he does in so many other movies and becomes the badly-written "over-the-top" character that he plays in every single movie that he is in. Ken Jeong, Olivia Munn and Tyrese Gibson ends up being completely useless characters that are only in the movie so that they can put the names on the poster. Ice Cube and Benjamin Bratt, however, were really good and played characters that were actually written pretty well. Bratt plays a villain that immediately gets you hooked and makes you want to watch what happens to the character in the end. Some of the action scenes (the few there are) are actually pretty good. However, this movie ends up becoming another really disappointing sequel that doesn't really level the standard of the first movie or is even 'alright' like the first one. This movie just sucks!
I wasn't a big fan of this movie, because I didn't find it that funny and the characters hadn't progressed from the first movie. Ice Cube (James) is still trying to prove that Kevin Hart (Ben), isn't a worthy cop and Ben is still getting up to mischief whilst trying to help James crack a case. The first movie was much better, because the concept was fresh and the jokes were funny but this movie wasn't written that well and Ben became annoying after a while. There are a couple of funny moments, like when Ben hit his head on a spinning fan but apart from that, I can count the amount of funny moments on one hand. The soundtrack throughout the movie was decent and you can tell that this movie had a bigger budget than the first one but I still thing that they could have done a better job with this sequel. With All that aside, it's still a watchable film, if you don't take it seriously, and the chemistry between Ben and James is OK. Average!
Round-Up:
After the success of the first movie, which made over $150million at the box office, this movie was bound to make a hefty profit but it seemed to "come and go" out of people's mind, when it was released. Now that I have watched the film, I can understand why it wasn't as popular as the first one, and I personally think that the director will have to come up with something special, to make the next instalment a hit. Anyway, this movie was directed by Tim Story, 46, who brought you Barbershop, the original Fantastic Four franchise, Taxi, Hurricane Season and the Think Like A Man franchise. He also directed the first Ride Along, so I wasn't surprises that he brought out a sequel so quickly. I did have high hopes for this film, mainly because I enjoyed the first one so much, so I was pretty disappointed with the result. Benjamin Bratt was also a terrible villain and I'm getting a bit fed up of Ken Jeong, because he always plays the same roles in his movies. With all that aside, I still like the banter between Cube & Hart so I will be watching the next one.
Ken Jeong was one of the stars of this film. He was supposed to be clever, cunning and calculated. Kevin Hart was also in this film, obviously. I'm not sure what he was supposed to be. They were probably going for humor, but I definitely didn't find any throughout the film. Ride Along 2 was boring, poorly written, and completely devoid of humor of any kind. I was quite disappointed as the trailers made it seem halfway decent.
Besides just being plain stupid, the movie's attempts at making us laugh just led to groans and cringeworthy moment after cringeworthy moment. I'd heard complaints about Kevin Hart in the past but since I don't generally watch his films, I pretty much ignored them. I completely get it now. The screaming, "mumbling jokes", and all around randomness were just all so bizarre. It's like they wanted to write jokes but decided to just wing it and watch Kevin shout at the screen. His performance was pretty painful to witness for sure.
Ice Cube on the other hand played his other half about as well as he could. How do you counter a screaming Kevin Hart? Put Ice Cube next to him and keep him stonefaced the entire time. Again, if they had written jokes then this pairing just might have worked. It's just a shame they chose not to.
Do I need to go over Ken Jeong? I don't think so. You all already know how that went. When have you ever seen him do something different? Never is the right answer here. Never may be the right word to end this review as I have no desire to ever go back and watch this again. It wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen, but it was just so dull. If you were thinking about seeing this, don't bother.
When you see people that are cynical about sequels, this is the type of movie that they have in mind when they complain about the lack of original ideas. I'm not gonna suggest that the first Ride Along was a masterpiece. It was just your basic buddy movie where Ice Cube was antaganostic towards Kevin Hart, whose character wanted to marry his sister and also wanted to be a detective. It was as basic a buddy movie as one can find. It wasn't a movie that I would call good to begin with, but it at least benefited from Kevin Hart's and Ice Cube's chemistry.
That's what really made the first movie, to me, watchable at best. Their relationship wasn't as entertainingly antagonistic as Robert DeNiro's chemistry with Charles Grodin in Midnight Run was, but it was decent at best and it led to some laughs. They may not have been consistent laughs, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that I, at least, chuckled at some parts of the film. Even as I say that, however, it's not like I, or anyone else for that matter, was really clamoring for Ride Along 2, because what can you do in the sequel that is unique and not just a rehash of what we already saw before and done in a, somewhat, better fashion. The answer to that question, of course, is absolutely nothing. The sequel is obviously just a rehash of the first movie. It's almost like the first film never existed and Ben didn't prove himself worthy of James' respect.
Essentially, James treats the events of the first film as a lucky accident, so they can basically use the same plot yet again of James not trusting Ben enough to let him contribute anything of value to their investigation. And, surprise surprise, the laughs are few and far in between this time, as it should've been expected. Here's the thing, the success of the first film wasn't really predicated on the fact that the movie was well-written or that the narrative was strong that it lent itself to strong comedic situations. No, it was predicated on the fact that Kevin Hart is a goofy, likable small man and Ice Cube is the badass gangsta rapper that doesn't take any shit from anyone. That's what the movie was sold upon. It wasn't sold upon having incredible acting or a fanstastic script, it was sold on those two being 'opposites'. Simple concept, yes, but audiences, for the most part, liked it. Did they like it enough to warrant a sequel?
Eh, that's debatable. And I guess they thought they could get away with, essentially, making the same movie, since it's not like they needed an actual, finished script to go ahead with the movie. All they needed was the basics and let Kevin and Ice do the rest of the work on their own. Kevin and Ice still have chemistry together, but it's the rules of diminishing returns. Say a great joke the first time and everybody laughs. Keep saying the same joke over and over, the laughs grow smaller and smaller. And I'm not even saying that the first one had any great jokes to begin with, I honestly don't even remember any of them, but you get the analogy. Honestly, this movie just isn't that funny and they do bring in some new people, like Olivia Munn and Ken Jeong, to give off the appearance that you're watching something new.
But that's like putting a new coat of paint on an old, busted down car. Yea, it's shinier, but it's still an old and busted down car. Like I said, Kevin and Ice still have chemistry together but that wasn't gonna be enough the second time around. And I think that's obvious when you look at how the film plays out. If you saw the first flick, then you know pretty much what to expect. Almost to a T. The film has few chuckles and it's heavy on the slapstick, just in case none of the interactions between Ice an Kevin really do much for you. In my case, neither the interactions, as in dialogue, between Kevin and Ice nor the slapstick, did anything for me. It's almost impossible for me to find anyone to recommend this movie to. Because it's like, some fans of the first film might have eaten this sequel up, but I see just as many people, if not more, seeing through the charade that this film tried to pull off. Maybe I'm giving people too much credit, but that's just how I see it. I'd like to think that more people see through this than there are those that enjoyed it. Not that there's anything wrong with that, mind you, we all have different tastes as far as entertainment goes. I just fail to see how some people might find this enjoyable. But that's just me, I'm not judging anyone who enjoys this. So, yea, chemistry between the leads is still there...and not much else. Bad movie and I sure as shit hope that we don't get a third movie in this 'storied' franchise. Can't recommend, in the slightest.
